Gatesville Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting a Child Goes on Trial Monday
A former Gatesville school bus driver accused of sexually assaulting a child his wife was babysitting goes on trial in district court Monday.

GATESVILLE (March 22, 2010)-Jury selection in the trial of a Gatesville man accused of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl is set to begin at 9 a.m. Monday in 52nd State District Court.
James Pat Wheat, 60, is accused of inappropriate sexual contact with a child his wife was babysitting in July 2009 at the couple's Gatesville home.
Wheat was indicted last September.
Wheat had been employed as a bus driver for Gatesville schools.
The charge against him - aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14 - is a 1st Degree Felony.
Wheat also is charged in federal district court with being a convicted felon in possession of firearms.
The case is being prosecuted by 52nd Sate District Attorney David Castillo and Wheat is being defended by Belton attorney Ted Potter.
