This week’s Golden Apple Award winner fills students’ lives with music.

Susan Stanton first entered a classroom in 1971, and has been filling children's lives with the gift of music ever since.
A native of Abilene, Susan attended Baylor University, meeting her husband Ken, who also teaches music.
After working in Brownwood for a number of years, Susan came to Scott Elementary School 13 years ago and now calls it her home.
Susan was actually nominated by a former student who now in high school.
This student says that Susan inspired him to want to become a teacher, and share the gift of music with others.
Susan and her family certainly spend plenty of time sharing music.
Her husband, Ken, is the choir director at Temple High School, and both her daughters are teaching music to children in the Dallas area.
Susan says she is very excited and surprised to win a Golden Apple, though to her the ultimate award is the success of her students.
