WEST (March 30, 2009)—Golden Apple Award winner Robert Flemming has spent just two years working as principal at West ISD's West Elementary school, but in that short time he has managed to make a big impression on students, their parents, and the teachers he works with on a daily basis.

Robert comes to West after spending time working for the Waco ISD, and he says he loves the people that surround him each day at West.

Robert is married and has a baby son.

Just a few weeks before we surprised Mr. Flemming with this award, he assisted News 10 in staging a huge surprise Golden Apple presentation for West teacher Debbie Janek, never imaging that he would be receiving this award in the near future.
