MART (April 20, 2009)—Golden Apple Award winner Becky Hurst has been sharing her love of music with the students of Mart Elementary School for the better part of the last decade.

A native of East Texas, Becky says she has always instinctively known that she was meant to teach music.

Becky's coworkers say she is a joy to work with, and her work in the classroom has really helped to bring many students of their respective shells.

Becky says she is surprised and humbled by winning this award.

She credits the awesome staff that surrounds her at Mart with making her a success at her job.
