(October 31, 2009)—Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, so don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed.

Local firefighters are also urging residents to remember to change out smoke detector batteries.

“Working smoke alarms give early warning and cut the risk of dying in a home fire nearly in half,” Temple Fire & Rescue says.

“Smoke alarms fail most often because of missing, disconnected or dead batteries.”

Temple Fire & Rescue and many other area fire departments will install smoke alarms and replace batteries for those who can’t.
