BLUM (November 16, 2009)—Hill County Sheriff’s deputies were investigating Monday after someone broke into the Blum School overnight and stolen 20 laptop computers valued at about $300 apiece.
The thief or thieves pried open the rear door of the school, crawled up into the ceiling and cut the wires to surveillance cameras for the end of the building from which the computers were stolen.
Students in kindergarten through 12th grade attend the school.

if i were the sheriff, i would investigate everyone who had a working knowledge of the alarm system/camera system and who knew where the conduits were run...this was an inside job....just like 9-11.

The parents need to step up and pay attention the what and where the kids are and who they are with if it is juveniles who are responsible. Increasing the punishment will only affect the ones who get caught. Kids and young adults now days have the attitude that they can do what ever, where ever and not have to be accountable for their actions. I see it on a daily basis and without the parents stepping in, it won't get any better.

How can anyone get off to stealing the children's education like that? I mean the laptops are for the kids to learn. Come on, how low can you really go?
