LAKE BELTON (February 4, 2010)--As rain continued to fall throughout Central Texas Thursday, rangers with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers say all four major reservoirs show lake levels on the rise.
At Lake Belton, the level has risen 9.5 feet and boat ramps, including McGregor and Sandy Point at Temple Lake Park, are closed.
Caution is advised at Stillhouse Hollow Lake where the level is up 7.5 feet and as a result some lower lying areas now are under water.
Lake Waco rangers have closed all boat ramps and the pool is 5.5 feet above normal.
Reynolds Creek Park and Airport Park are open but only for limited use.
All venues at Lake Whitney are open but the lake level is up 5.5 feet.

Just be glad we now have lakes full of water! It hasn't been too long ago that everybody was complaining about there being no water in the area lakes! And their boats were grounded in their Boat Storage docks. I'm sure glad no one can control Mother Nature nor the amount of rain!! PERIOD!!!
Everyone will be glad that Waco has that much water during the next drought. This thing about "pork" is getting just plain silly. Lake Waco as well as most other lakes in Central Texas are owned and managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (the Federal Government). What are they supposed to do when there are times with heavy rains? Have a bake sale to raise the money to fix the parks?
It would be nice if someone could find a way to basically stockpile this extra water, you know...for those not so rainy days!
