BROWNSVILLE (June 5, 2014) A woman escaped unharmed during a nine-hour standoff at her home in Brownsville that with one man dead and a second man injured.
Police identified the dead man as the woman’s boyfriend and the wounded man as the woman’s ex-boyfriend.
All three worked for the Cameron County Jail system, police said.
The two men were jailers and the woman a nurse, Detective J.J. Trevino said Thursday.
Officers fired tear gas into the house to end the standoff.
Inside they found Ivan Reyes, 31, dead and Marco Antonio Gonzalez, 31, with a self-inflicted wound in the midsection.
