TEMPLE (October 11, 2012)--Temple police Thursday released the identity of a woman who died Wednesday night in a local hospital after a two-vehicle accident.

Teresa Michelle McRae, 42, died at Scott & White Hospital to which she was taken after the accident at eastbound SW HK Dodgen Loop 363 and South 31st Street.

An autopsy was ordered.

Temple police spokesman Cpl. Christopher Wilcox said officers were dispatched just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday after a caller reported a crash involving a four-door, grey Chevrolet sedan and a red Nissan pickup had collided.

McRae was driving the Chevrolet east on the SW HK Dodgen Loop service road and had stopped at a red light, but then for some reason continued into the intersection, police said.

The Nissan, which was northbound on South 31st Street, struck the Chevy on the right side with what police described as substantial force.
