WICHITA FALLS (August 11, 2010)--A 1-year-old boy has died after a sport utility vehicle ran over him in the driveway of his family's north Texas home.
Wichita Falls police said Giovanni Fidel Perez died while undergoing treatment at United Medical Center late Tuesday afternoon.
According to a police statement, the family says the child left the house without the knowledge of anyone inside.
A short time later, a visitor also left the house, got into his SUV and began to pull toward the street.
The right front tire of the visitor’s SUV struck the boy.
An autopsy was ordered.
No charges have been filed, but the investigation continues, police said.
