WACO (August 12, 2010)—An Alabaster, Ala. attorney was free on bond Thursday evening, after turning himself in on a federal contempt of court charge.
The U.S. District Clerk's Office in Waco said James Green turned himself in earlier Thursday, and was released after he posted $5,000 bond after Federal Judge Walker S. Smith Jr. imposed sanctions and issued a warrant for Green for failing to show up for a hearing on Aug. 4.
According to the clerk's office, the hearing involved a motion to continue-motion to withdraw, related to a civil case in which the company Mr. Appliance was the plaintiff.
No one could be reached for comment at Green's Alabaster's office Thursday evening.
