Willie To Be Honored As Ambassador For Peace
Texas country music icon Willie Nelson will be honored as an ambassador for peace next month.

(September 28, 2007)--Country music icon Willie Nelson's latest award recognizes him as an ambassador for peace.
The entertainer will be honored Oct. 19 at the University of Texas with the inaugural "Bridging Divides" award for aiding peaceful conflict resolution.
The award for Nelson was announced Thursday by the UT/Austin Project on Conflict Resolution.
It's one of many honors for the Texas native, whose hits include "On the Road Again," "Always on My Mind" and "Whiskey River."
Guest artist Amy Nelson will sing a song she wrote with her father.
Ray Wylie Hubbard and Jimmie Dale Gilmore are also scheduled to perform.
