Thousands Attend Texas Megachurch Conference
More than 10,000 men attended a “pep rally for God” this weekend in Texas.

FORT WORTH (August 29, 2010)--More than 10,000 men attended what was billed as a "pep rally for God" in Fort Worth.
The 16th annual ManPower Conference wrapped up Saturday at the Convention Center in Fort Worth.
The conference was launched by Bishop T.D. Jakes, senior pastor of The Potter's House, a 30,000-member megachurch with congregations in Dallas and Fort Worth.
The men-only event was designed to equip participants with tools to build strong marriages, increase self-confidence and take on community responsibilities.
A first-time event at this year's conference was a health fair to raise awareness about medical issues that affect a high percentage of African-American and Hispanic men.
Volunteers provided blood pressure and cholesterol checks and free screenings.
