Elderly Texas Man Charged After Female Trooper Punched
An elderly Texas man was free on bond Tuesday after he was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer in an attack on a female trooper who was punched three times during a traffic stop.

PIERRE, S.D. (August 31, 2010)—Chester Strickland, 76, of Clarendon, was free on bond Tuesday after he was charged in an attack on a female South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper who was punched three times during a traffic stop near Pierre.
Strickland was indicted for felony simple assault of a law enforcement officer and misdemeanor obstruction of a law officer and initially aws charged with carrying a pistol without a permit after the alleged Aug. 19 incident, but the grand jury did not return an indictment on that charge.
Strickland's next court date was not immediately set.

I am a man and, unfortunately, I know this guy. He does NOT have dementia. He knows exactly what is going on and knows what he says and does. As for being a "man"?...a man would NEVER hit a woman unless it meant saving his or another persons life (clearly not the situation here). I believe he has trouble with authority figures in general but especially female authority figures (an attitude of "no woman is going to tell me what to do"). A man would admit that he has possibly done something against the law when stopped by a police (male or female) officer. He didn't hit the officer once, he hit her three times!!!...it is very obvious he knew exactly what he was doing. I'm sure it's all on video yet he has plead "not guilty". From what I understand, he has reguested a male Judge...it shouldn't make any difference what sex the Judge is. The law is the law!! Give him "prison" time, not jail time.

why not just an elderly man punched a state trooper.you women get on this power and equality trip until someone injects equality and you cry foul..just because some cop on a power struggle gets clipped for elderly abuse.
