WACO (September 6, 2010)- Waco Fire Fighters are investigating after an evening kitchen fire at an apartment complex near Baylor University.

The fire broke out just after 6 p.m. Monday at The Grove Apartments on the 2800 block of South University Parks Drive in Waco.

The fire department said automatic sprinklers in the complex put the fire out, but the resulting water flow caused water damage to that unit and five additional apartments.

Fire fighters at the scene were using squeegee's to push water out of the apartments.

One resident told News 10 she had about 2 inches of water in her apartment.

A fire marshal was headed to the scene Monday night.

No one was injured.
