Early Morning Head-On Collision Leaves 2 Local Residents Dead

MEXIA (September 27, 2010)--Two Mexia residents died Sunday morning after the vehicles they were driving collided head-on just a half-mile south of Mexia.

Cherry Billings, 31, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday after she was taken by ambulance to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco.

Martin Rodriguez, 45, died 7:15 a.m. Sunday at Limestone County Medical Center.

A Department of Public Safety trooper reported Billings was driving south at about 5:15 a.m. Sunday on State Highway 14 when her 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a 1985 Ford F-150 pick up truck driven by Rodriguez
