(October 22, 2007)--Dallas will be the first stop when a popular exhibit of objects buried with Egypt's King Tutankhamen returns for a US tour next year.

The exhibit opens Oct. 3, 2008 at the Dallas Museum of Art, followed by stops at two still undetermined museums.

"Tutankhamen and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" drew nearly four million visitors during its two-year, four-city tour that wrapped up this fall after stops in Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago and Philadelphia.

When the exhibit opened in 2005, it was the first time in more than 25 years that treasures from King Tut's tomb were shown in the US.

Next year's exhibit will include artifacts that are new to the show and haven't been seen before outside of Egypt.

The artifacts range from 3,300 to 3,500 years old. The exhibit gives a glimpse into the life of Tutankhamen and other Egyptian royals.

Tutankhamen died under mysterious circumstances around age 18 or 19, in the ninth year of his reign.
