Central Texas Flea Market Destroyed By Fire Early Wednesday

JARRELL (December 1, 2010)--A flea market alongside Interstate 35 at Jarrell was leveled Wednesday morning by fire.

Firefighters were sent to the 15151 block of Interstate 35 south just before 1 a.m. and the first units at the scene found the flea market engulfed with flames.

It took firefighters more than an hour to gain control of the blaze but no one was reported injured.

Jarrell Fire Chief Clifford Tschoerner said it’s not clear how the fire started.

The Jarrell Flea Market is on the west side of the highway just about a mile north of the Jarrell.
