(November 9, 2007)-- A sheriff's deputy in Davis County, Utah thought he had a speeding driver to deal with early Monday morning, but the situation turned out much differently and parts of it were caught on the police car's dash-cam.
Deputy Cory Cox says he clocked the driver of a Toyota 4Runner doing about 95-miles an hour at about 4:30 in the morning.
Cox says he hit the lights and siren and pulled the vehicle over, only to find two frantic people trying to get to the hospital.
Young Jeon and his wife Yeosin Hong were rushing to the hospital, because she was very much in labor and about to give birth.
Within moments of pulling over the vehicle, Deputy Cox had just enough time to put on rubber gloves and the baby was born.
Deputy Cox says the woman only pushed twice and the baby was born.
Deputy Cox, in addition to being a sheriff's deputy, has also been a paramedic for the last five years.
He says this was the first time he's experienced anything like this.
As for the new family, everyone is said to be doing just fine.
There is no word on whether anyone was issued a speeding ticket.
