(November 16, 2007)—Round Rock police are hoping an autopsy will shed some light on the death of a 29-year-old Austin man who jumped into the front seat of a woman’s car, got out as the woman fled and then crawled underneath the vehicle.
It happened Thursday morning in the parking lot of a Walgreens store at 799 Louis Henna Blvd.
Officers found the man wedged under the rear of the vehicle, but police said he had no obvious injuries.
They administered aid until paramedics arrived, but the man, whom police identified as Kenneth Ray Jackson, later died at Round Rock Medical Center.
Witnesses told officers Jackson was acting erratically before he jumped into the car, police said.
The woman, who was not identified, told investigators Jackson didn’t display a weapon and didn’t threaten her.
Emergency room doctors said Jackson wasn’t run over by the car.
