Holiday Mail Deadlines

Procrastinators beware, the deadline for sending holiday mail is fast approaching.

The Postal Service is reminding customers that cards and
packages going to members of the military in Iraq and Afghanistan
should be sent by December 4th to arrive before Christmas.

Officials say military mail headed to other overseas destinations
should be sent by December 11th.
People sending mail within the U.S. have a little more leeway.

The Postal Service suggests sending domestic packages using the
least expensive option, parcel post, by December 15th. For mail
sent first class or priority, the last day is December 20th.

Customers have until December 22nd to send Christmas packages by
express mail.

Officials expect to deliver about 20 billion cards, packages and
letters between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
