Early Morning For Many Central Texas Shoppers

Shoppers across Texas were up bright and early this morning to hit the stores for the usual Friday-after-Thanksgiving sales.

Some retailers opened as early as 4 a.m. with deals on laptops,
big-screen TVs and other swag that had been advertised at deep sale
prices.

At a Best Buy in Plano, David Shapiro staked out the first spot
in line -- which he got by showing up at six o'clock on Wednesday.

The mood was sedate at the Macy's in NorthPark Center, a stately
Dallas mall. A couple dozen people milled around, waiting for the 6
a.m. opening.

Store employees let shoppers in 10 minutes early. By 5:57 a.m.,
some were already leaving empty-handed.
