Problems Continue To Keep Flights Grounded In Killeen

Flights in and out of the new Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport have been grounded since Sunday by a combination of bad weather and problems with the airports instrument landing system.

One American Eagle Flight landed and later departed Wednesday during a break between downpours, but until the landing system is repaired, most commercial activity will remain at a standstill.

The problem has forced the cancellation of dozens of flights, affecting thousands of passengers.

Airport officials said Wednesday that passengers who are ticketed out of Killeen should call ahead to check on the status of their flights.
