(December 21, 2007)—Concern is growing about Rice University student Matthew J. Wilson, a junior computer science major who hasn’t been seen since last Saturday.

His roommate last saw him around noon Saturday and he did not turn in his take-home exams by the Dec. 19 deadline, according to the university.

Rice Police Chief Bill Taylor was scheduled for an interview Friday night on Fox News’ “On the Record With Greta Van Susteren to talk about the missing student.

Rice used its emergency notification system to alert students, staff and faculty Wednesday about Wilson’s disappearance, the university said.

Flyers were posted in nearby shops and distributed in the neighborhood where Wilson lives, the university said.

Wilson is white, about 5-foot-7 and 135 pounds with red hair, green eyes and glasses.

He had a full beard when he was last seen, the university said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Rice Police Department at (254) 713-348-6000.
