Police Release Surveillance Photo Of Discount Store Robber
Police late Thursday afternoon released a surveillance photo of the man who robbed a local discount store at gunpoint.

(January 3, 2008)—Police were looking Thursday for a man who held up the Dollar Tree store at 811 East Highway 190 in Copperas Cove at gunpoint.

They released a surveillance photo of the robber late Thursday afternoon.

The robber struck around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say he walked up to a checkout stand, displayed a dark-colored handgun and demanded money.

He escaped with an undetermined amount of cash.

No on was injured.

Police say the robber was black, in his early 20s, standing about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10.

He was wearing a dark T-shirt with “Tupac Shakur” on the front and a white ball cap.

He had a thin mustache and a goatee.

Copperas Cove Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of as much as $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and prosecution.

It was the second robbery of the day Wednesday in Cove.

Around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday an armed man held up the Extraco Bank at 1003 East Highway 190 in Copperas Cove.

He was still at large Thursday.

The suspect in that robber was described as black, slender, about 6-feet tall and in his late 20s or early 30s, police said.

He was wearing dark clothing and a black ski cap.

No one was injured.

Police say he may be the same man who robbed the Guaranty Bank in the 1300 block of S. 31st St. Temple, TX on Dec. 20.
