10 Displaced After Fire Destroys Two Mobile Homes In Rural Central Texas

BELL COUNTY (December 1, 2011)—Firefighters worked late into the night Wednesday battling a fire that consumed two mobile homes and displaced 10 people.

Firefighters from Bartlett and Little River-Academy were called to the scene near Sparks on State Highway 95 between Holland and Little River-Academy just before 9 p.m. where they found two mobile homes engulfed in flame.

The six children and four adults were able to escape the blaze unhurt but had to find shelter for the night.

Firefighters fought the flames for more than four hours before they declared the blaze under control.

The Bell County Fire Marshal said the fire appeared to be electrical in origin.

Firefighters at the scene said the blaze started in a bedroom of one of the homes, spread throughout the structure and to the adjacent home, which also was destroyed.
