Police Officer Rescues Local Woman From Burning House Early Tuesday

BEVERLY HILLS (December 20, 2011)—A woman who was awakened early Tuesday morning by her dog was rescued from her home by a Beverly Hills police officer as fire raced through the house.

The woman and her dog weren’t hurt.

At around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, Beverly Hills firefighters were sent to an address near Acree Acres and South Valley Mils Drive where they found a house on fire.

The lone occupant of the home, who had been awakened by her dog, was trying to get out through a window when a police officer came to her rescue.

Firefighters said most of the fire was contained to just one room of the house, but the rest of the house suffered smoke and water damage.
