(January 15, 2008)—In Pueblo, Colo., a golden retriever looking for something to play with, ended up uncovering a six-year-old murder.
The dog named Jazmin is known for finding interesting things around the neighborhood, but last month the retriever found what turned out to be a human jawbone.
That's when police started questioning 47-year-old Charles Earl Gross.
Police say Gross admitted to shooting a man in self-defense in 2001 and stashing the body underneath his mobile home.
Last year, Gross moved to another home.
Police say they have found human bones in both locations.
The recovered body parts include human arms, a hand and pelvis.
Gross is in the Pueblo County Jail, on $100,000 bond.
The victim's name has not yet been released.
