Texas Elementary Principal Charged With Molesting Male Student Save Email Print

(January 30, 2008)--A San Antonio elementary school principal has been charged with molesting a 13-year-old male student.

Forty-one-year-old Michael Alcoser was arrested Tuesday on a charge of aggravated sexual assault and jailed in lieu of $75,000 bail.

Police searched Alcoser's home last week and took computers, digital cameras and videos.

The affidavit says police confiscated images of the alleged victim and two compact discs depicting sex acts between men and adolescent males.

The investigation was prompted by a report from the victim's mother.

The South San Antonio Independent School District says Alcoser was placed on administrative leave from his position at Carrillo Elementary School pending the outcome of the investigation.

Alcoser's relatives couldn't be reached for comment.

Every day we hear stories about kids being expelled from schools or being thrown in jail for absurd things and along comes an article like this. Just exactly what power have we given the schools that we trust our kids to attend each day? In another article on this, it says that the boy and or boys were more than likely molested in this principal's office. So my question is why this boy was repeatedly in the office and why he was allowed to be in there such long periods of time without other staff questioning it? Too busy worrying about how to keep quiet at all costs to protect the school and themselves? I'm just glad he finally was caught. Wake up parents, the schools are not protecting your kids.........ask them why and ask the school board why as well.

Please don't assume that all of us in education are like that. It sickens me to read this kind of thing as well. How do you think I feel being an educator myself? It does not help in the way the community view us. I agree that something (besides background checks) need to be done to prevent this from EVER occuring again!

We send our children to school assuming they are safe and sound! We need to take more steps in preventing these situations. Background checks work, but there has got to be other monitoring done for the children's safety!

This is disgusting. More and more we hear about this going on all over the country. I'm to the point that I'm afraid to send my children to school. This type of action should have an even worse reaction. Do not put them in jail. Put them to death!

I THINK I LIVE IN THE WRONG STATE, BECAUSE THIS IS STARTING TO BECOME COMMON IN TEXAS SCHOOLS LATELY. IM NOT KNOCKING TEXAS CAUSE I HAVE LIVED HERE FOR THE PAST 17YRS, I AM JUST NOW WORRIED ABOUT MY KIDS GOING TO SCHOOL AND NOW GETTING MORE THAT JUST AN EDUCATION. WHAT'S WRONG WITH ADULT FIGURES NOW A DAYS? THESE ARE PEOPLE THAT WE TRUST EVERYDAY WITH OUR CHILDREN, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
