(February 6, 2008)--(February 6, 2008)—Searchers Wednesday recovered the body of a medical helicopter pilot after the chopper went down in the Laguna Madre, near South Padre Island.

The pilot and two paramedics died in Tuesday night's crash during strong winds and other bad weather.

Cameron County Justice of the Peace Benito Ochoa identified the pilot as 55-year-old Robert Lamar Goss.

Ochoa identified the paramedics, whose bodies were located earlier, as 39-year-olds Michael T. Sanchez of San Benito and 38-year-old Raul Garcia, Jr. of Weslaco.

Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio says the helicopter crashed during a 30-mile trip from Harlingen to South Padre Island to pick up a patient.

Lucio says the helicopter aborted landing at South Padre Island and was returning to Harlingen when it crashed.
