Arrest Made In Shooting Of Central Texas Deputy

Authorities arrested Eric Richard Wolfe, 30, of Kingsland Monday in a wooded area known as Cedar Point. Wolfe was wanted in the shooting of Llano County deputy sheriff Andy Taylor, who was in critical condition Monday at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.

Taylor was shot during a traffic stop Sunday night in Kingsland, about 45 miles northwest of Austin.

He called in details on the vehicle he had stopped before he was shot and an attempted capital murder warrant was later issued for Wolfe.

Wolfe had what authorities said appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His condition was not immediately available.

Investigators don’t know what led to the shooting.
