Shooting Leaves Two Dead; Authorities Suspect Murder-Suicide

(February 16, 2008)—Bell County investigators suspect murder-suicide in a shooting late Saturday morning that left a man and woman dead in Belton.

Bell County sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of the shooting around 11 a.m. at 3629 Terrier St. in Belton

Inside they found Jerry Dean Busby, 61, and Diane Shelton, 60, dead of gunshot wounds.

Both Busby and Shelton lived in the residence, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The deaths are being investigated as a murder-suicide, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Justice of the Peace Ted Duffield ordered autopsies.
