(February 22, 2008)--Police Friday identified the motorcycle officer who died after a motorcycle crash while escorting Hillary Rodham Clinton to a Dallas campaign rally earlier in the day.

Police Chief David Kunkle identified the officer as Victor Lozada-Tirado, a married father of four children.

Clinton canceled a Fort Worth campaign rally shortly after the officer's death.

She said a rally would be inappropriate so soon after the officer's death.

The officer died after his motorcycle crashed just past a sharp turn in a viaduct over the Trinity River between downtown and the Oak Cliff section of Dallas.

Aerial video showed wreckage scattered for several yards and emergency medical technicians laboring to treat the officer.

In a statement to reporters at the Dallas rally, Clinton said, "We are just heartsick at this loss of life in the line of duty."

She said she plans to contact the officer’s family as well as the police chief.

Mrs. Clinton was visibly upset when she told supporters of the officer's death and praised the law enforcement officers who have been with her every step along the campaign trail.

She now heads to the other March 4 battleground state, Ohio.

Her next event Friday evening will be in Columbus.

Hitlery is lying. She is loving the publicity. She is total garbage. This man was forced against his will to be in the witches motorcade and now he is dead. First Vince Foster and now Victor Lozada-Tirado.

To be one of the most memorable days for that officer, how sad it ended for him and his family. Mrs. Clinton, thanks for being respectful to the family and the Dallas PD, and cancelling the rally. I am sure you did NOT think twice about that decision.

My prayers go out to the officer's family. And I'd like to praise Hillary Clinton for absolutely doing the right thing.

My prayers and thoughts are with the family of this officer. We have lost 2 officers in our town due to motorcycle accidents. I wish they would take them off of the motorcycles and place them all in cars.
