Clinton Campaign Denies Circulating Obama Photo
The flap over a photo of Barack Obama in traditional Kenyan tribal attire took on a life of its own Monday.

(February 25, 2008)--A photo of Democrat Barack Obama in traditional garments during a 2006 visit to Kenya is causing a dustup today in the presidential campaign.

The Associated Press photo portrays Obama wearing a white turban and a wraparound white robe presented to him by elders in Wajir, in northeastern Kenya.

Obama's estranged late father was Kenyan.

Obama told WOAI Radio of San Antonio Monday that he thinks the American people are saddened when they see what he calls "these kind of politics."

The Illinois senator says when traveling to other countries, you're asked to try on traditional garb you've been given as a gift.

Obama says it's the same when it's him or Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton or the New York senator's husband, ex-president Bill Clinton.

The gossip and news Web site The Drudge Report posted the photo and said “Clinton staffers” circulated it.

But Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson says the campaign didn't sanction it and he doesn't know anything about it.

Whats the big deal. Is Obama ashamed of his ancestory heritage? He should wear it with pride.
