The Texas A&M Board of Regents will consider the creation of a Center for Community Health Development at the A&M System Health Science Center and the establishment of a Center for Maritime Archaeology and Conservation when it meets Thursday on the university campus in College Station.
The board welcomes two new members appointed by Gov. Rick Perry earlier this month: Former Aggie football coach Gene Stallings and businessman Lupe Fraga.
The two men will serve until February 2011.
Stallings and Fraga graduated from A&M.
Stallings, who lives in Powderly, is a former head coach at Alabama who also coached the St. Louis and Phoenix Cardinals.
Stallings also is a former Dallas Cowboys assistant coach.
Stallings is in the Alabama and Texas Sports Halls of Fames, the A&M Hall of Fame, the Gator Bowl Hall of Fame and the Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame.
Fraga, who's from Sugar Land, is chairman and CEO of Tejas Office Products.
He's also chairman of the board of the Houston branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
