Emergency Crews Responding To Early Tuesday Morning Accident

By: Paul J. Gately Email

WOODWAY (July 10, 2012)—A 23-year-old man was on his way to a Waco hospital Tuesday morning after he was injured in a one-vehicle crash in Woodway.

The man, who had not been identified, was trapped inside his vehicle after the crash and rescuers spent almost half-an-hour working to free him.

The extent of his injuries was not immediately known.

Woodway Public Safety officers were sent just before 5:30 a.m. to Park Road 1, just off Estates Drive, where a caller reported a traffic crash and a driver entrapped.

Only very few details were available immediately but it was known both police and fire units along with an ambulance from East Texas Medical Center EMS were at the scene.

The area along the park road is heavily wooded and the crash site was said to be well off the roadway.
