LORENA (July 24, 2012)—The Waco Fire Department’s hazardous materials unit and fire units from Lorena were sent Tuesday morning to the Bush’s Chicken Restaurant, on Interstate 35, in Lorena after a hazardous materials spill was reported.

Initial reports indicated a tanker truck was leaking fluids onto a driveway outside the business.

Lorena police said at about 7:20 a.m. the tank, which was filled with 5,000 gallons of oil, was being transferred from one truck tractor to another when it collapsed and struck the ground.

The force of the impact with the parking lot left a small hole in the tank and some of the oil began leaking out onto the ground.

The truck and cargo was headed from Waco to a location in Bell County.

The truck is owned by Sidco Enterprises.
