Major Accident Slows Traffic On Rural Central Texas Road; 2 Drivers Hurt

COPPERAS COVE (July 31, 2012)—A head-on crash early Tuesday just north of Copperas Cove left two drivers injured.

The accident happened at around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of FM 116 near the city’s animal shelter.

Police said a 2004 Chrysler Concorde and a 2006 Suzuki Forenza collided head on, but other details weren’t released.

One driver was flown to Scott & White Hospital in Temple and the other was taken by ambulance to Metroplex Hospital in Killeen, police said.

The names of the victims weren’t released.

Traffic was moving slowly around the area while crews worked to clear the highway of debris Tuesday.
