(March 10, 2008)—The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services moved Monday to revoke the license of a Killeen daycare center at which an infant girl was sexually assaulted last month.

An employee of the Little Blessings Daycare, Terrance Charles Beard, 23, of Louisiana was arrested on Feb. 29 on a warrant charging sexual assault of a child in an incident involving the 4-month-old girl on Feb. 20.

Bond was set at $200,000.

On Monday the Family and Protective Services presented owners of the daycare with a letter of intent to revoke the center’s license.

Little Blessings now has 15 days in which to request an administrative review.

The daycare sought an injunction last week in hopes of keeping the center open.

Hearings on the motion are expected to wrap up on Wednesday.

Police started an investigation after the infant girl’s mother arrived to pick up her daughter and was told by daycare workers that the baby was injured.

The mother then discovered injuries to her daughter’s anus.

She took the infant to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center where doctors confirmed the bruising was consistent with a sexual assault.

Investigators determined that Read worked for the daycare and that he was there on Feb. 20 and had access to the infant.

Police said that while daycare workers had noticed the injury, no one from the daycare notified police or Child Protective Services.

I sorry sad I just want to scream about the whole thing!! And to think it's right here in are town we have to come up with a better system to stop people like him!!

This made me sick when I first read about it. Still makes me sick!! The owner crying about keeping the day care open! Like any mother would bring her child there after what's happened??? I say Black List her so she can't operate anywhere!!

everyone that was at work when this happened needs to be punished!! how are they not going to hear this poor baby??

That's what I'd like to know as well: "Where was anyone when that baby (4 months old)was screaming. That is so sick and disgusting for anyone to do something like that to any child/baby. WHY would they want to hurt an innocent child? Even though the child can't tell anyone, the injuries are still visible and like their parents aren't going to notice, especially when the child is a baby and wearing diapers. All of these people need to be punished. God will take care of their punishment as they hurt one of his "Little Blessings".

Terrance Charles Beard is inhuman & deserves the severest punishment under the law. Anyone who would assault, in any way, an innocent child should be locked up and the key thrown away. May God have mercy on his soul! The day care should be closed down and the owner unable to work at another day care. God help them!!!

My thoughts are bulldoze it, light a match and BURN it. At least folks would not have to drive past it everyday and be reminded of the filth that works there and what happened to that baby.

I agree with all of the comments. They should not get off easy. It makes me so sick that someone did this to a BABY! What else has he done? IF they do let him go, tattoo on his freaking head "CHILD MOLESTER" that way everyone will know what kind of monster he is. Hey, maybe they should do that to all sex offenders... like the Scarlett Letter! I hope each and everyone of the guilty people burn in hell!

THE BAD THING IS. IT IS TO EASY TO START UNDER A NEW NAME AND A NEW PLACE.

They need to put the owner in jail right along with the filthy pervert she had there. She is just as guilty because she lied all the way through the investigation, and she didn't act as soon as she knew something was wrong. Same thing for Porter, the other employee, she knew, but the guy lives with her and her husband. They are all guilty, send them all to the pen and don't let them get off with a slap or a fine.

I still sickened over this. Cut their D**** off and lock them up for life.

I agree, these people need to be shut down for good. Of courseshe lied it was her family member, and he wasn't at work that day. They knew something was wrong with that baby. If i was the parent I will be sueing them too. This is the worse, i'm glad my daycare days are over. Now it makes you wonder who to trust your child with feeling me.

These people should be in jail for hendering a police investigation! They lied when intially questioned by police according to news reports. In my eyes that makes them just as guilty as the person who commited the crime. I hope they at least take their license. I would hate to think that a family could move to killeen 6 months from now and placing a child in their care without knowing what happended to that poor baby! And again, WHERE THE HELL WERE THEY WHEN THAT BABY SCREAMED?? and that woman saying it was a diaper rash! Please!!
