Sleepless In San Antonio; Texas Fares Poorly In Sleep Study

Three Texas cities rank among the most sleep-deprived cities in the country, according to a MetroGrades report published in the current edition of Men’s Health magazine.

El Paso, San Antonio and Houston all received failing grades in the study, in which cities were ranked on multiple criteria including Simmons market research on how many people in each average seven or fewer hours of sleep a night; the number who suffer from insomnia, and the number who report using sleeping pills.

The number of sleep-disorders centers per capita also figured into the calculation.

The best-rested residents in the country live in Honolulu, the study says.

No Texas city scored above a C+ in the study, which did not rank Waco or Killeen-Temple.
