Governor Rick Perry's emergency management division calls it a
"virtual border neighborhood watch."
The plan is designed to help crack down on drug running, human
trafficking and other crime along the Texas border with Mexico.
Proposals are due April 7th.
Those watching on the Web will be able to contact law enforcement about suspicious activity they see by using the Internet or a toll-free telephone number.
Perry's office has identified two million dollars in federal grants for the border video surveillance camera program on private property.

LOL.. Me from Central Texas! I like that idea but these illegals will just start using boats -- probably already are!

Wouldn't it be more cost effective to fill the Rio Grande with cottonmouths, gators, and pirhanas?

it's going to cost "2 million dollars" for web cams? The cams must be some high tech space shuttle type equipment... why not use that money, as well as other money spent on "extra highways" not needed, to hire more law inforcment for our Texas cities?

Does that mean stopping the flood of illegals will be "virtual" too?
