Man Indicted Wednesday For May Shooting Murder

By: Paul J. Gately Email

WACO (September 6, 2012)-- A Waco man was indicted Wednesday charged with the May 5 murder of another man at a local residence.

Julius Carter Lozano, 29, was named in the indictment in connection with the May 5 shooting death of Joshua Baldridge, 31, who was shot repeatedly at around 11:30 p.m. May 5 at 2416 Colonial Ave. Apt No. 4, police said.

Lozano was arrested in July in Dallas and held there until he was transferred back to the McLennan County Jail, where he has been held in lieu of bonds totaling $100,000 and without bond on a state parole violation.

Baldridge's death was the first murder of the year in Waco.

Police say both Baldridge and the man who shot him evidently had been drinking and may have argued, but the motive for the shooting hasn't been determined.

After the shooting, the gunman fled in a vehicle, which was later recovered, police said.
