FALLS COUNTY (September 11, 2012)—A gravel truck driver had to be cut from the wreckage of his truck Tuesday afternoon and eventually flown to a Waco hospital after a rollover accident in eastern Falls County.
A spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety said the accident happened just after 12:30 p.m. at Farm-to-Market 1771 and Falls County Road 249, about halfway between Marlin and Kosse.
The truck, owned by Tuttle and Tuttle Trucking Company, of Cleburne, was hauling gravel.
The trooper at the scene said the truck overturned while trying to negotiate a curve at the intersection.
Rescuers had to use the Jaws of Life to cut the driver from the truck cab and rescuers at the scene said he was unresponsive and unconscious when he was flown by helicopter to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center’s trauma center for treatment.
The trooper at the scene said the driver had suffered significant injury.
