(March 26, 2008)--A Waco-area minister who was arrested on child pornography charges in September was indicted Wednesday by the McLennan County Grand Jury on ten counts of possession of child pornography.
Henry Elbert Edgington, 64, was originally charged with seven counts after a relative found a box containing child pornography at Edgington's home and contacted Waco Police Department Crimes Against Children detectives.
Police spokesman Steve Anderson said Edgington who was a minister at the Elm Mott Church of Christ near Waco, told officers he was doing research to get some Web sites shut down.
But Anderson pointed out that, "Unless you have a badge, it's illegal to look at child pornography, no matter what your motive."
Edgington posted $70,000 bond and was freed after his arrest.
