(March 26, 2008) -- A Leon High School staff member is telling her side of the story of an incident that could cost the school's principal his job.
Principal David Jones is accused of grabbing a student, and leaving behind a bruise. The alleged incident happened back in February.
In a statement released Wednesday, the High School Secretary writes that she saw Jones "grab the student by his left shoulder and try to hold him."
She goes on to say the student tried to jerk his shoulder away, but Mr. Jones told him not to. Later in the statement, she writes "at no time during the episode did the student raise his voice or speak rudely or disrespectfully . Mr Jones simply lost control."
The Leon ISD Superintendent received the same statement. It was one of four he received from witnesses about the February incident.
Jones is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the county attorney's investigation.
