(March 27, 2008)—Authorities, Tuesday, were trying to decide whether to file charges against a Missouri man who fatally shot his wife while trying to install a satellite TV system in their home.

Thirty-four-year-old Patsy Long of Deep Water was pronounced dead Saturday evening after being shot in the chest with a .22-caliber handgun. Her husband, Ronald Long, fired the shot from the inside of their home after several unsuccessful efforts to punch a hole through the exterior wall using other means.

Henry County Sheriff's Deputies say the woman was hit by the second of two shots fired by her husband.

Investigators say a person involved in such a case normally would be charged with manslaughter, but that was up to the prosecutor.

The story doesn't explain what lead up to the shooting. He fired the rounds from inside the house. Where was his wife, inside and hit by a ricochet off a nail head or pipe, outside feeding the cable through the wall, or was she victim of her husbands frustration at not being able to drill a hole, anymore?

I've been installing Satellite systems for ten years. I am constantly amazed at how many do-it-yourselfers create extra work for themself by thinking, "That's no problem, anyone can do that." I feel sorry for his next wife.

Someone please lock this guy up before he has a chance to breed. To shoot through a wall once is stupid but twice he was either aiming at her as an excuse for an accident or Darwin needs to take over him as well.
