(March 27, 2008)—Killeen police say Fort Hood soldier Eric Willis Mooney, who died when a concrete pumping truck struck his passenger car just before 7:30 a.m. Thursday in the 500 block of west U.S. 190, had medical conditions that may have contributed to the accident.
Police say Mooney was driving his 1999 Toyota Camry east in the inside lane of 190 when the car veered into the median and crossed into the westbound lanes near the Fort Hood Street exit ramp.
Witnesses told officers Mooney was trying to steer back toward the median when the westbound concrete truck hit the driver’s side of the Toyota.
Other details were not immediately available.
