(March 28, 2008)--Virginia State Police executed a search on a home near Crozet, at Yonder Hill Farm, just before 5 a.m. Friday and arrested Slade Allen Woodson, 19, in connection with a series of shootings along Interstate 64 near Charlottesville, Va., Superintendent Steven Flaherty of the Virginia State Police told a news conference.
The shootings left two people with minor injuries.
Woodson was charged with two felonies connected to a separate shooting in Waynesboro, on Thursday, when shots were fired at a home and a credit union.
As the police executed the search warrant at Yonder Hill Farm, an individual with a handgun fired on police who subsequently returned fire.
The individual was wounded and taken a hospital in Charlottesville.
Five other people were at the residence.
Woodson is the owner of a Gremlin car that was captured on surveillance cameras near where the shootings occurred late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
It was later found abandoned. Flaherty said ballistic evidence was found in the car and it was sent to a lab for analysis.
