HEB, KWTX Team Up To Help Hurricane Victims

HEB and KWTX are teaming up for Ten Cares, Central Texas Shares, a one-day drive Friday to collect basic supplies for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
From 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at the Hewitt-Woodway HEB, the Waco Bosque Boulevard HEB, the Killeen HEB and the Temple HEB, donations of bottled water, peanut butter, canned tuna, cereal or granola bars and diapers will be accepted for the hurricane victims.
Tens of thousands of Gulf Coast residents were displaced by the storm and 25,000 of them are being bussed to the Houston Astrodome.
HEB has dispatched its water tanker and its Eddie Garcia mobile kitchen to the Astrodome.
