(March 31, 2008)—Navarro County sheriff’s investigators asked for the public’s assistance Monday as they try to identify a body found by two fishermen Friday in Richland Chambers Lake.

The fishermen spotted the body floating near the TXI plant Friday in southern Navarro County.

Freestone County game wardens recovered the body.

The dead man was black, about 45-years-old, about 5-feet-10-inches tall and weighed about 200 pounds, according to a press release issued Monday by the Navarro County Sheriff’s Office.

The man was not carrying any identification, the Sheriff’s Office said.

An autopsy was ordered.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the Navarro County Sheriff’s Office at (903) 654-3001.
